Life with Kaishon - So pretty : )
Sarah Cornish - Wow are you ever gorgeous!! I woulda never thought to use a rake to, that is so smart!! Love this and look forward to following this blog too!
Tammy - No wonder your boys are so beautiful, look at YOU!
Liz - Lisa! You are stunning!
steve puntieri - stunning, i would photograph you
Laura Morita-Yeun - haha. I had a moment of thinking you used the rake to hit the shutter release, and was trying to figure out how on earth you did that. Focusing on the rake makes a ton more sense.
Debbie - Beautiful selfie!! I’ve a huge fan of your work and also appreciate your contributions at CM & ILP!! Love this new blog, and of course love your portrait blog too!! You are such an inspiration!!
Leah - beautiful!
admin - Hi Ben…yes, you are exactly right. I focused first on a rake and then hit the shutter (self-time mode, 20sec) and then replaced myself with the rake. I was able to achieve a *fairly* shallow DOF, though I could not get myself in focus if I opened wider than f/2.8. Hope this helps.
Ben - Hi Lisa – I first found out about you over on Fred Miranda and am follwing your blog now! Quick question for you on these beautiful self-portraits. I notice you achieved a pretty shallow DOF. What’s your technique for getting proper focus – did you use a rake to focus on and then jump in the frame?
Elena - I saw these self portraits over at ILP I commented how gorgeous you are and how beautiful your work is. I just want to say your work is inspiring I was listening to the song Imagine, but Jack JOhnson’s version and it just added an extra punch of magic to your work, with or without music your work is simply stunning. But I don’t want to get off track…I want to be able to take pics just like you oneday. Anyways I will stop sounding like a creeper now lol.
Lórien - So beautiful. I am wondering what you used the rake for though
Taryn Boyd - Beautiful and talented! Jealous much? yep!
